MSc.
Ksenia Beloturkina
Ksenia is a PhD student in the People and Computing Lab. She holds a master’s degree in Informatics from the University of Zurich and a bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from the Catholic University of Leuven. Ksenia's research interests lie at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and maternal health, particularly focusing on exploring how technology can enhance prenatal care experiences. Through qualitative studies, she investigates the existing pregnancy monitoring practices and perceptions of expectant parents and healthcare providers regarding technology. Her work aims to uncover potential barriers to adoption and identify opportunities to improve the user experience of these technologies in prenatal care settings. She is particularly interested in participatory design approaches that involve different stakeholders, such as expectant mothers, their partners, and healthcare providers, in the design process. Her goal is to create user-centered technological solutions that holistically support maternal and infant well-being by addressing the physical, informational, social, and emotional dimensions of pregnancy.
